The lecture emphasized the importance of integrating sustainable and eco-friendly practices into healthcare education, research, and management. Voter ID camp

To nurture a sense of civic responsibility among young citizens, a Voter ID registration camp was organized exclusively for students. The initiative focused on transforming eligible students into first-time voters by simplifying the voter registration process and highlighting the power of every single vote.
The camp served as a one-stop platform where students received hands-on assistance for Voter ID enrollment, clarification on eligibility requirements, and guidance on necessary documentation. Interactive discussions helped students understand how informed voting strengthens democracy and gives voice to youth perspectives.
The enthusiastic participation of students reflected their growing awareness of democratic values. The camp successfully bridged the gap between awareness and action, inspiring students to step forward as responsible and informed voters.

Antiragging Awareness Program

The Anti-Ragging Pledge and Awareness Program was organized on 8th September 2025 Nehru Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) campus to ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all students. The program aimed to educate students about the serious consequences of ragging and to promote a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and harmony within the institution. The event began with an awareness session highlighting the institution’s strict anti-ragging policies and guidelines. Students collectively took the anti-ragging pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintain a ragging-free campus. Senior students expressed their responsibility to guide and support juniors, fostering friendship and inclusiveness. Onam Celebration – 2K25

Nehru institute of health sciences, Coimbatore, celebrated ‘ PRAKAMBANAM 2K25’ the onam festival on 2 September 2025 with vibrant cultural spirit. The event beautifully reflected the festival’s essence unity, equality and prosperity. The celebration began with an insightful welcome address by DR. T. Dhanalakshmi, Principal of NIHS, who highlighted the onam’s culturals and historical importance Dr. P. Krishna kumar, CEO and secretary of NGI, who encouraged students to uphold the values of peace, prosperity, and equality embodied by king mahabali. The celebration featured a Pookkalam competition, Tug of War, Onappattu (Onam songs), Thiruvathira dance, an energetic flash mob, and a lively fashion show showcasing traditional attire. The celebration culminated in a grand Onam Sadya,. The festivities concluded with an authentic onam sadya served on banana leaves. The event fostered unity, cultural appreciation, and an enriching festive experience for the entire NIHS community.
Outcome for the Events:
The Onam Festival ‘ PRAKAMBANAM 2K25’ at Nehru Institute of Health Sciences provided students with a rich cultural experience, deepening their understanding of Kerala’s traditions and values. World Hypertension day

Nehru Institute of Health Science proactively organised World Hypertension Day on 29th June, 2025, our students raised an awareness about hypertension., our college B.Sc., Cardiac Technology students conducted a blood pressure awareness camp for all students of NIHS. The event allowed students to check their blood pressure, receive personalized advice, and learn the importance of monitoring cardiovascular health. Our B.Sc., Cardiac Technology Students also shared valuable information on lifestyle changes to prevent hypertension. The camp was a huge success, with active participation from students. Outcome of the Program: A total of 57 Students and 7 faculties participated in the blood pressure screening camp. They gained valuable knowledge about hypertension, its risks, and prevention methods. The session helped increase awareness and encouraged healthier lifestyle habits among the participants.

Yoga aims to bring harmony by fusing the body and the Yoga is one of the most beneficial activities an individual can add to their lifestyle. It is an excellent activity for the healthy body and mind. Nehru institute of Health sciences has conducted International Yoga Day Celebration. The event took place on 19.6.2025 during 9.30. A.M. - 11.30. A.M. at Abdul Kalam Block, Nethaji Hall. Mr.Mr. Karthick, Yoga Instructor, Nehru Arts and Science College, coimbatore. He demosnstrate yoga asans to the students. 90 number of students actively participated in this event and benefitted out of it. Outcome of the Program: This day serves as a platform to encourage individuals to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, promoting healthier lifestyle choices and a connection with nature. Yoga improves focus, concentration, and self-discipline, which are essential for academic success. It also helps reduce stress and anxiety, creating a more positive and harmonious learning environment. Celebrating international Yoga Day for students is crucial because it promotes holistic well-being by enhancing their physical, mental, and emotional health. After celebrating Yoga day, we introduced a daily 15-minute morning yoga session before classes begin. This has become one of our best practices.

Health camp for canteen workers

The Nehru Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) organized a Health Camp in collaboration with the campus *canteen staff* to promote health awareness and ensure the well-being of support staff members. The camp aimed to provide basic health screening and encourage preventive healthcare practices among the participants.
Medical professionals conducted general health check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, BMI assessment, and basic medical consultations. Guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle habits was also provided to enhance overall wellness. The initiative reflected NIHS’s commitment to community care and social responsibility by extending healthcare services beyond students and faculty.
The camp witnessed active participation and was highly beneficial in identifying health concerns at an early stage. Overall, the program successfully promoted health consciousness and strengthened the bond between the institution and its support staff.
